Mission Statement: To build a better, faster, scalable & well documented directory script based on "Plain English" PHP and 100% CSS (no Smarty or Tables) for the programmer in all of us.
Because we have tried to develop using PHPld, OpenLD, and others only to become frustrated with their "features". A truly friendly/open directory script should be 1) Easy to Read & Follow 2) Well Documented 3) Easy to Skin (in both layout and formatting) and 4) Regularly maintained and updated without wholesale changes in the code.
Simply because a directory script (like every other script on the market) should be "hackable" by the novice programmer! Have you ever tried adding something to an existing directory script? If you have, you would know your brain can only take so much looking at 30 "template pages" before it explodes. You will end up giving up will buy a mod (or 10) faster than you can say smarty.
This is exactly what the script's creator wants because they sell a paid version that has most of the features you will want. If not, they can point you to one of their people for you to pay and get it done.
Sorry, we do not offer one. We give you a script that is "out of the box" better than anything else on the market. If you want to add to it, feel free. When you are finished please add your experience to our wiki so that others can benefit and we can possibly include it in a future update.

OK, got a good one for you. We release our script via the LPGL which means you can modify our script and distribute (or sell) your new script just like a Linux Distrobution. Obviously, we encourage you to distribute it for free and remain true to the open source community. If you think your version is superior and you need to make a buck off of it, feel free to do so, just leave the credit to our script in the code and available via a link on the download page. How's that for cool, your own brandable directory script!
